Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport
Rumours
of a targa-variant of the 400 kilometre/hour Veyron supercar has proved
right. Bugatti has announced the launch of the Veyron Grand Sport
supercar. Set to be unveiled at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concourse
d’Elegance, on August 16th, the Veyron Grand Sport retains the
coupe’s 16-cylinder engine and 1001 horsepower output.
The
roof is a relatively simple targa top configuration, rather than a
convertible setup. The owner must simply remove the top panel above
the two seats to enjoy the open air. It’s not clear as yet if there
is space inside the car to stow the targa roof panel, or if it must
be left at home, as is the case with many such models.
The
approximate asking price for a Grand Sport in the United States is
something in the region of $2,250,000 plus. Only 80 are being built,
so probably advisable to start saving. Actual production is slated to
begin in the second half of 2009.
